Services to Youth
Services to Youth is the first facet The Links, Incorporated, created. It is an integrated approach to preparing young people to succeed in the 21st century workforce. Serving the youth of the Greater Pittsburgh area is the common thread throughout most of the Pittsburgh chapter’s projects. In addition to awarding scholarships, Pittsburgh Links continue to develop innovative programs that involve our African American youth. The Links have partnered with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) to promote and expose our youth to STEM programs and career opportunities. The Pittsburgh Links have created two NSBE Jr. chapters at Pittsburgh Lincoln and Woolslair elementary schools.
Services to Youth is also the lead facet for our umbrella project EMPIRE Girls: Encouraging, Mentoring, Preparing, Inspiring, Raising, and Empowering young women to believe that they are capable of making significant contributions to society partnering with Gwen’s Girls.
