The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Links, Inc. celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a wonderful evening held at the August Wilson Cultural Center on November 10, 2018. The anniversary theme was “70 Years of Links Excellence: A Celebration of Service and Sisterhood.” The Chapter, chartered on December 5, 1948, honored its 15 founders and highlighted seven decades of history and service through video, photographs and memorabilia. The evening event also showcased the incredible musical talent of Pittsburgh youth with performances by the Funky Fly Project (an instrumental jazz quartet), the Hill Dance Academy Theatre (a youth ballet and modern dance group) and soloist Anqwenique Wingfield. In honor of its 70th Anniversary, the Chapter awarded the inaugural Daisy Lampkin (Chapter founder) scholarship to two very deserving African-American female students. The anniversary celebration was a very special evening enjoyed by all. The Chapter looks forward to the next 70 years—anchored by Service and Sisterhood! Comments are closed.
